Debbie Arnold Receives Deputy Sheriffs’ Support

San Luis Obispo Deputy Sheriff’s Association Endorses Arnold over Incumbent

San Luis Obispo, CA- After an extensive interview process, the San Luis Obispo Deputy Sheriff’s Association (DSA) has voted to endorse Debbie Arnold over her opponent, incumbent Supervisor Jim Patterson.

“I am very humbled to have the support of the Deputy Sheriff’s Association,” stated Arnold. “It is a great honor to have the men and women of law enforcement who protect our families supporting my candidacy and recognizing that I am the best choice for Supervisor.”

“We believe that the 5th District needs new leadership to get us through these uncertain times,” wrote SLO Deputy Sheriffs’ Association President Michael Thompson in a letter to Arnold. It continued, “We believe that Debbie Arnold has the personal and professional experience required to bring a business-minded, public safety oriented approach to County Government. The San Luis Obispo County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association believes in Debbie Arnold and the solution-oriented leadership she will bring to the Board when she is elected on June 5.”

Debbie Arnold has always been a strong proponent of public safety, advocating that the Sheriff’s Department as well as the District Attorney receives the funding necessary to catch criminals and put them behind bars. An outspoken critic of AB 109, Debbie fought to keep felons in state prison and not in our communities.

“Our county just doesn’t have the resources to deal with these state criminals,” Arnold said. “It’s business as usual in Sacramento where problems are passed on to local government but the funding is not. Our families and communities are less safe today because of this bill.”

Debbie has more than 17 years of business experience as owner and operator of Small Wonders Preschool in Atascadero. For several years Debbie has worked as an advocate for ranchers, small businesses, and families in her role as a San Luis Obispo Field Representative for the State Senate. She also spent time volunteering for youth sports leagues including basketball, baseball, soccer, horse vaulting, 4-H and rodeo.

A native Californian, Debbie Arnold has called the Central Coast home since she moved to attend Cal Poly. Married to husband Steve since 1975, the couple has two children and three grandchildren. The Arnolds own a family ranching and farming business where they produce beef cattle, hay and wine grapes.

Debbie is a member of SLO County Farm Bureau Women, SLO County Cattlewomen, and California Women for Agriculture. She currently represents the Pozo area on the Santa Margarita Area Advisory Committee.
